The Universes extension allows for definition and customization of a variety of universes. Universes are managed with a special page and can be used by other extensions to add extra functionality to a wiki.
On it's own the Universes extension defines a Universe namespace, any interwiki or link directing to this namespace gets redirected to the corresponding page on the wiki by default, however if the start of the page title matches a Universe name the link will actually be redirected to the place that the Universe is defined to be located at (interwiki or pagename prefix).
